and i bid thee, farewell

feeling a little sad and unsettled now. just got back from breakfast with duckie, lea, glenn, and his friends clement and william... her farewell breakfast, since she'll be leaving for the OC later on today for exchange. stayed up till abt 4.30am to make her her present, was so proud of myself... and guess what?!? i left it behind! lea gave me a wake-up call at 7 plus as promised, which i promptly answered, then ignored and fell back to sleep after. when she came up to my room to get me... she found a sleeping pig ^^ had to wait a while for me to change and take a quick shower :) left the house pretty much zombie-fied and ugly -- no make-up, eyebags, and specs... but ah well, family over vanity!!

duck, its really sad seeing you go.. especially now, since we've only just started getting closer again after that long lull during those teenage years. i remember all those times spent together as children, going to the same school, playing together everyday, and acting in all those christmas concerts lea organised^^ the five of us even had the chicken pox together! (haha, lea started it, and it soon spread :) those were really good times... without a care in the world, without stress... just us, and our teenage mutant ninja turtles, carebears, and nkotb =] i regret losing touch in the past few years. i guess we all got so busy with our own lives that we forgot to even try... but nevermind, better late than never. we're still young, and we still have many years to share together;] so as you venture out to unknown waters, don't forget that we're all still here waiting for ya. benjy may be gone, but you've still got as, and we'll always be your family; and me, lea, and sue your 'sisters'. have a safe trip, and take care of yourself over there... i know this may seem dramatic, since you're only leaving for 6 months, not you're entire life... and probably sappy too... but hey! i'm sad :( come back soon k? there'll always be good food, great company, and many other things awaiting you here... not to mention major clubbing with us during our rather weekly recently girls night out!! come back soon.... i still haven't learnt your sexy disco dance! haha. that boob thrust for 'pump it' i saw for the first time at that pub in taiwan.... i'll never forget!!

oh yesh... and sorry again about your prezzie... i took a photo! sorry its really blur, personal digital cams are soooo not meant for jewellery photography (heehee... i should know^^), and thank god dad just got us the pro cam to share! so much easier for me to take for tickled-orange now! ok. digress, digress... the one on the right is the final one, after i asked if i could modify your design... you like?? the right is the original as per your request... don't know... it looked funny to me, so i changed it... fine with ya rite? anyhow... me and lea will send our gifts to ya with jessie ee ee when she visits ya, or even better.... maybe you'll get a surprise package waiting for ya there!! anyhow.. i know you're looking for more blue earrings, so i'm gonna create more blue pieces for my collection, and send ya more along with this k? hope you'll like them!!
well... that's it for now. happy new year in advance to all... its only hours away! off to bake my cheesecake now... and no worries glenn, i'll leave some in the fridge for ya! ^^

i want a love like that

it is really heartening to see how love can withstand the test of time. to not fad with the era, but to instead continue to burn brightly. it's so cute to see him asking her out, and them going for their yearly honeymoon. not that this love is without flaws; but even shouting matches are a sign of love... it means you both care enough not to give up on the relationship.

it takes a lot to live with a person and his or her flaws for close to 30 years, and even more to keep that love alive. and perhaps this is why i'm still searching... isn't this song from shrek 2 just so apt somehow?

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

--frou frou, HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO

have fun watching the fireworks on new year's eve together mum and dad... you two are so romantic, you make me envious!

i love meeting up with friends!!

ok. that title sounds damn gay ass, but ah well, it't true! :) spent tues night with the smu girls for a belated christmas dinner. i brought along my cherry brandy truffles as promised, but skipped on the oero cheesecake since i was too lazy to make it. heehee, not much of an excuse, but do you believe i woke up late again?!? and then i realised i forgot to buy one ingredient; and it was raining so hard outside i didn't want to leave my house to get it=] so lazed around for a while...then started on the prezzies and cards, and that took longer than i thought! ha. ended up an hour late for the party at shouwen's, even though i only live a few doors down! haha. everyone was like.... 'what else can we expect??' i soooo need to try harder to be on time. i'm really notorious for being late!!

dinner was fun... just chilling with the girls, eating the unforgettable purple shepard's pie, spaghetti, and cake with haagen dazs ice cream (omg, can you believe i had to check out how to spell that? haha. but their official site is yummy too!) anyhow, thanks for the gifts all!

wed was another great day. had my long awaited gathering number two with some of my rj close pals...regina,abi,val,jo: it was great meeting up!! we haven't had a gathering in such a lonnggg time; but i can't believe half a year has gone by so fast, it seems like just yesterday saying goodbye to these overseas bound pple! as usual, ahem, i was late. but this time not so bad..only forty mins! lol. it was good that almost everyone else weren't all that punctual either... although, sorry val!! you had to wait for us all=]

lunch was yums. we ate at this korean place. i had chicken bap (really good!! esp. the kimchi rice. must remember to bring mum there one day for lunch...she'll love it!) after that, we ventured on to this dessert place at wheelock. i kinda (as usual) just followed along blindly, so i don't know what it's called. think it was sun with moon?? or something like that...=[ anyway, it was kinda like this japanese fusion place, and they had the most interesting desserts!! and they were served up so prettily, we just had to take some photographs of our food!!

sesame pudding, various types of mochi, tofu cheesecake, guava rose tea, and green tea ice-cream with mochi
and my somewhat artistic photo of my guava rose tea...;]
heehee. i still can't believe that everyone found that cheesecake sauce salty except me! it really is like that chinese sticky twirly yellow sweet what. hah. my tastebuds are off! am i falling sick?!?
group photo...where are you, grace?? come home soon!!! argg.. and why didn't anyone tell me my hair came out of its pins? that big boof on top.. that's not an intended style!!! heehee *sheepish about outburst*

lol, we wanted to take a photo with our arms all hugging this empty space in front of us (i.e. where grace should have sat), but found it too weird to ask the waitress to help us take THAT picture. grace, you'll just have to be there yourself next time! ;] *hint hint*

two days, two long-awaited gatherings, and tons of happiness.. i really can't fully express how glad i am to have friends such as you guys. at different stages in my life, you helped made an otherwise mundane life full of colour and joy. whether i'm reminiscing with you guys on old memories made, or creating new memories together, thanks one and all for being a part of my life and sharing it with me... friends make that life that much easier to live, and troubles that much easier to bear... so once again, thank you all; and don't be a stranger!

had to rush off after dessert to meet up with duckie. and surprise surprise, i was late again.. but this time it wasn't exactly my fault, it was cos i just couldn't bear to leave!! there was always a little more news to share, a little more juicy details to gossip about, and i ended up half an hour late. hee. i ended up waiting for duckie at the control station since that smart girl didn't leave until i told her i was leaving too. haha. that way, we will BOTH be late. ;) anyways, so we tried to get a cab there, since it was already 4.45 and the party started at 4, but the queue outside raffles city was ridiculously long!! so we called my aunt to see if it were still worth while going down, and she said that my baby cousin rachel's birthday party would be over soon, and why don't we just go straight to her house to continue the celebration, she'll bring us cake=] since we had time to kill, ended up taking the bus instead, but we still got there too early!! we arrived to an empty house, and when we called again, my aunt said that we might as well go down to the queensway macs where the party was held. we were supposed to walk, since macs is like a 5 mins walk away from their house, but we were both too tired!! haha, hailed a cab, and guess what? THE METER DIDN'T EVEN MOVE!!! yup, we came in, and the meter said $2.40, we left, and it still said $2.40... that's how near the place is!!!! can you say lazybums??? i feel ashamed ;]

anyhow, to cut a long story short... i got an entire cake for myself to bring home!! auntie serene knows how much i love the macs birthday cake. (blame it on good old childhood memories:) and so she ordered another extra one just for me! heehee, i get a birthday cake enough though it isn't even my birthday! i was so excited about it, and when i came back later on abt 9, i immediately cut myself a slice, but only to face disappointment. macs changed manufacturers and their cake! argg.. this new one has too much cream.. and it just tasted less.....yummy. sigh.. change it back! change it back! it was sooooo much better in my memories... hmmmm... not sure if i'll get into trouble for this, but the new manufacturers are ntuc...=] heehee.

came home tired and suddenly depressed. haha. maybe it was seeing the smu campus from raffles city? reminded me that sch starts just next week :( sue was getting ready to go out to party, and i was supposed to go too.. but was just suddenly not in the mood.. watched her dress up and leave at about 11, then i had the whole room to myself along with a feeling of unsettlement. not even sure why...mood swings?? aish.. i don't wanna psycho-analyse myself now. anyway, good that i didn't. she came home around 6 in the morning. and they hit liquid, zouk, and attica. i would be pooped! i think maybe i've been going out TOO much, so i'm trying to cut back. dedicated the whole of today for some alone time at home. haven't spent a full day at home ever since i came back from taiwan.. and maybe it was my guilty conscience telling me to stop playing around and focus more on tickled orange, which was what i did today. upped the inventory and created some new designs. have to update the blog too, just that i have not much related news on that end to report as yet... tmr is gonna be errand day for me. have to buy some things and stop by the bank... i'm mainly gonna try to get back into that pace of life and prepare myself for sch and work.. the holidays are over, and i've got to pysche myself for school....=[

till next time... tata!

update of the past week

almost up to date!! k. quick rundown of what i've been doing in the past week:

dec 22 met up with peeps from rj for lunch at a pizza place. happy birthday evita!! it was great seeing you guys, especially after a 6 month hiatus. we've gotta meet up more often!we hung around till abt six, then i was off to meet lea and daph for dinner at... can you guess? yes, another pizza place!!! ah well, it's good that i loove pizza ;] this one had yummy home made ice-cream -- we shared 6 scoops amongst the 3 of us! after that it was crazy elephants to watch my godpa perform. how cool is that, my godpa is in a band! and not just that, i heard it's one of the best bands in singapore. the only asian in the band of ang mors, you rock man godpa! o bar and double o after... ladies night =] my first 'pop'! then off for roti prata supper...yummy! dec 23 dad brought home gifts he got from his office, which included the yummiest slab of $500 kobei beef! glenn cooked for us, and dad just slept till it was ready. mummy was so angry at him... he said they opened 9 bottles of wine at his office christmas party just before, so he came home really sloshed. but it was so funny! he kept falling off the chair and just keep pointing to the walls when we asked him which wine we could use to cook the beef. opened the margaret river one, which he nodded his approval to that night, but the next morning... it was 'ahh!! that one is expensive! wrong wine!' haha. he is so funny, and mum is so cheeky! tickling his armpits while he was sleeping... crazy family i have man. haha dec 24 the traditional christmas eve party at my grandma's house! ha, everyone knows my love for soft toys, every single one of my presents included a soft toy! and the best haul.... these two!
thanks mum and auntie serene! i looooveee them!!!
haha. they are both so fat that i have trouble every night hugging them both to sleep. but i can't just choose one.... the other will get jealous!! haha. i'm so childish sometimes ;) was supposed to go out with sue to attica, cos we've got a vip table there, but missed it in the end... dad fetched us back home after the other party around one, per sue's request cos she wanted to change to more comfortable shoes, and during the in between period while waiting for her friend to fetch us, we fell asleep! ah well, there'll always be others=] dec 25 dragged myself out of bed to go to church in the morning -- i'm so proud of myself, i was the only one out of us three sisters who managed to wake up in time! haha. after, went for christmas lunch at my great grand aunt's house. ate and ate and ate.....came home... slept... and ate again! am i getting repetitive?!?! heehee. christmas house party at my house. another eating session. did anyone else notice how the christmas season promotes gluttony?? ha, was initially thinking of dancing away that extra turkey at zouk, but decided to forgo that in exchange for a mahjong session with the sisters, glenn, and duckie at home instead. glenn made us lychee martinis (yummy!!) and i found out something.... i'm allergic to cognac! drank some grapefruit orange cocktail after that which contained cognac, and i got a full body rash after! i mean, i usually turn really red after i drink (lea says its good blood circulation, heehee^^); but this time even my arms and legs had red patches! anywayz, went to sleep straight after... that alcohol rash terrorised me! dec 26 finally, up to date! really didn't do much today... woke up to a whole fridgeful of leftovers:) the day after christmas is really the best day for pigging out! i absolutely ADORE turkey porridge.... and if you've never tried it, get your mum to keep those turkey bones from christmas dinner. just throw the bones in a slowcooker with rice the night before and expect a yummy surprise the next day! haha, i sound like a commercial or a tv chef or something... but it really is yummy. heehee. sitting here waiting for glenn to finish cooking.... it's more kobei beef for dinner. yums!!! haha, i love my sister's bf... such a great cook!

looks like its gonna be food and more food for the next few days until 2006 arrives... christmas party with the smu peeps tmr... i'm making cherry brandy truffles, oreo cheesecake, and strawberry cheesecake! haha. feeling a tad lazy to start cooking... but i already bought the ingredients... so no wasting! just realised i'm in trouble for wed's plans... double booked myself for everything. blame it on bad memory =[, i so need to use my organiser (that was LAST year's resolution^^ heehee, didn't work) i've got lunch with the rjc peeps which i absolutely cannot miss. jo and val are back! after that, my baby cousin rachel's birthday at macs for tea. more great cake!! (i love mac d's chocolate icing birthday cake =]); ladies night at god knows where (haha, undecided yet) with lea, duck and glenn; and an online meeting discussion thingy with adrian. have to reschedule the stuff and msg pple laterz.... i'll continue updating about stuff when the time comes, but till then... byezzz!!

last post! --- the beer tower....

are you enjoying reliving my trip with me? haha, just kidding ;] we've come to the end! last night, and we end it off with a bang. we decide to visit the pubs in hondkong, and chance upon the beer tower!! never seen it before in singapore. it's so damn cute! lol.
group photo, our waiter, a drunk lea?!?, and the tower itself!

well.... that's the end of my 10 day trip. back to reality.... it's already christmas!

goodbye taiwan, hello hongkong; first stop ... DISNEYLAND!!!

a night of drunkenness

ok. so we met up with my dad's longtime friends from taiwan - uncle george, uncle roger, and their respective families; and boy can they drink! first night, we went to his xiao long bao restaurant... and drank and drank and drank!! an entire bottle of whiskey to share among the 4 men, and 4 bottles of wine for us five who drank. everyone was really tipsy after that!
notice the red faces? me frantically drinking my chinese tea to dilute the system..haha
and a group photo, before we leave ...........
to the ice skating ring!!!
uncle roger owns an ice-skating, rollarblading and bicycle manufacturing company, the sponsor for this round of asian ice skating games held in taipei, and he signed us all in to watch the taipei international team's private training session! all that sweat and hotties..... so cool!!

after that, the already drunk glenn went off talking to strangers asking them where's the best places to club etc.. and this really nice guy we met outside the ice skating arena actually helped us call his pub-owner friend and got us a cab there! went there, drank more, and met maggie....the nicest person ever. she brought us clubbing at luxe, taiwan's 'most happening' club. and even better...ladies night -- free!! haha. you should have seen us after everything. glenn, you're really hard to carry back to the hotel room!!! heehee. the 'slumper'; "fei li ar!!" lol. we were only trying to take off your gross shirt!! =]

hangover...hangover...and we're back for more. now we're at uncle george's russian restaurant. beer night=] lookie, it's a russian dancer! the white and milk chocolate fondues with ice cream rocks!!
the ice room after dinner. minus 20 degrees eskimo room, with 165 types of vodka; look how stupid we look with the huge fur coats! chilli vodka is really gross!! but chocolate vodka rocks=]look at duckie! confirming for us that yes, it really is minus 20 in there. haha
